Q1 2022 Results of HR Benchmarking Survey

May 4, 2022
in HR

HR is at the heart of the business and because of this new and increased focus on HR I launched the HR Benchmark Survey late last year. We partnered with leading HR technology disruptor HiBob to create the 2022 HR Benchmark Survey in order to help HR leaders understand how their strategies and programs compare to those of other companies.

I’m excited to announce that we are releasing first quarter results! One of the most unique aspects of this survey: We’re not closing it. It was developed to be an “always-on” benchmark that you can come back to anytime you are planning or initiating changes to make an even greater impact on your business and continue to shine a spotlight on the value that HR truly brings.

A couple of key points: The survey, which was launched in January of 2022, revealed that in most cases, HR is no longer responsible for only admin and payroll, but is playing a crucial role in high level business decisions and increasingly led by C-level executives. Additionally, HR leaders are placing more importance on employee retention than on organizational growth.

Talent acquisition and retention have been crucial to the survival of companies throughout the pandemic of the last two years. As more organizations put HR at the forefront of people strategies, benchmarking these data points is more important than ever, enabling company leadership to speak, act on, and respond to the language of data. This benchmarking survey was designed to help you do that.

The results from this survey are particularly important because the survey establishes a benchmark in HR. This is incredibly paramount for HR senior leaders in HR as I have found other surveys incomplete, are one and done or are focused not on the senior HR professional. Our goal is to provide the survey results as the data updates over time so we can uncover trends and changes as the role of HR continues to evolve. The survey results really provide validation for so many things I’ve already known that have been discussed with HR peers, on our Workology podcast interviews, and what I know about the industry where I’ve worked for more than 20 years.

Want to take part and get the full results moving forward? You can still take the survey at www.hrbenchmarksurvey.com and receive a copy via email. Updates will be released quarterly.

We’re having a free webinar this month with Hibob’s Zoe Haimovitch to review the first quarter results on Wednesday, May 18th, 11 AM CST (12 PM EST). The presentation is pre-approved for 1.0 HRCI and 1.0 SHRM recertification credit. Register here.
